Anatomy of a Copse 2012-16
Normandy
Jane Boyd
This work is for a photographic wall installation where the copse exists as five tall “tree-trunk” shapes. It is about drawing in three-dimensional space, the ever-changing growth and regrowth of a small hazel-wood copse over a three-year period. In the spring, the light continuously re-draws the space directed by the winter pruning to reveal the organic defoliated structure.
